Software Development
I have been writing Microsoft Windows applications since 2003. I currently use Microsoft Visual Basic with either Microsoft Access or an SQL based database. There are several local companies running my software including recruitment, waste management, manufacturing, health and safety, courier, training and catering. My software uses databases that are stored locally, on a network or in the cloud and can integrate with any website that uses API’s including Google, eBay, HonestEye, Gov.UK.
File conversion
With a lot of websites using different Content Management Systems (CMS) there needs to be a way to transfer data from one to the other. The most common is CSV (Comma Separated Variable). I can read and write these files, read and upload to websites using CSV files. This is often much quicker than entering all the data again. Ideal for eCommerce websites with lots of products going from one CMS to another.
Data Recovery
I have invested heavily in both hardware and software that enables me to recover photos, documents, emails and other information from a hard-drive, USB memory stick and phone/camera memory cards.
If you accidently delete a file or folder or if you perform a factory reset on your computer then I should be able to get that data back for you.
Warning:
As soon as you realise that an important file is missing then stop using your computer. Computers write files over the top of other files that they think have been deleted.
Data Destruction
There are times when you don’t want anyone to access the data stored on your hard drives or USB sticks. eg throwing them away, selling, passing computer on to family or friends. I have software approved by the US Military and other organisations that can wipe hard drive, memory sticks and memory cards so that they are safe to use again. Just because you have formatted a drive does not mean that your data has gone. It is still there, it needs securely overwriting many times.
Network Security – Penetration Testing
Wireless networks (WiFi) are often the easiest way into your computer network. I can test the security, check routers and passwords to make sure an attacker does not gain access easily. If your wireless network has a name similar to the router eg Netgear, Linksys, Zyxel, tp-link, virgin, sky, BT, TP….. then your are using default settings. Default settings mean default passwords which means that it is easy to hack and to sit on your network.
The best case scenario for someone using your WiFi network is so that they have free internet access, but what if they are trying to get information about you or your company? What if they are using your WiFi to access illegal websites?

I own a server in a secure UK data centre where I can host your emails and website for a low yearly fee.
Basic websites
WordPress has made creating websites much easier! If you need a basic website to introduce your company or hobby then I can set one up for you. I also know who to introduce you to if you need eCommerce, SEO or advanced web development.
